Subject: PC Eudora with UUENCODE Attachments?
Is there a PC Eudora out there that supports UUENCODEing when attaching
a file instead of BinHex?
An FTP site address and directory would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

This is much nicer (IMHO) than the telnet that comes with the Microsoft
WFW TCP/IP beta, and nicer than Trumptel.
A few more small features could be asked for, but for right now, I'm using
it in place of QVTNET (which I only use for its telnet). It also looks like
some additional features are in the works, based on the menus.

Just off hand do you run a SCSI-based disk system? My system as of
current is:
DX2-66 EISA/LocalBus
64MB - 60ns RAM
Viper 4MB video (1280x1024x16M is *fantastic*)
BusLogic EISA Fast SCSI II Adapter
2.4gB on 2 Quantumm ProDrive 1225S drives
NEC 3xi CD-Rom
NEC 6FG Monitor
Everything about my system says overkill (which is why it was named
Goliath). However, the only thing I *can't* get it to do is 32-bit disk
access. I think it has to do with the disk system being SCSI based but I
don't know for sure. I was able to get 32-bit on my old 386 which had an
IDE 200MB before I went with my current system?
Anyone got a clue on this one? Thanks for any information.

This isn't a fix for you, but it may help explain (I'm talking from foggy
memory, so the details are a bit weak, but you'll have the idea):
The NNTP spec doesn't require that the NNTP server or back end provide headers
that are missing because the newsreader doesn't generate them. This seems to
have been the practice because NNTP 1.n implemenations invoked inews, which
came with Unix B- and C-News and provided headers the reader didn't provide.
INN has continued this practice, where the NNRPD provides headers not included
in the incoming post, but if they're present, that's OK too. Typically the
user provided the Newsgroups: and Subject: headers, the NNTP inews provided
the From: and Path: headers, and the back-end on the NNTP server provided
the Date: and Message-ID: headers.
One major VMS news software package (which combined both the NNTP support and
the news back-end, much like INN) was implemented strictly from the RFC's,
and so when it receives a post, it assumes all of the headers are provided
by the reader.
Last time I looked at it, Trumpet provided all of the headers. Chances are
WinVnews isn't providing all of them. It probably should be added (IMHO).

I beg your pardon? running Mosaic in a DOS windows?

no it is not correct. WFWG 3.11 has implement 32bit networking as well as
disk access. However, majority of the core is not 32 bit. You will still
need the w32s. And check that the w32s is at least 7/24/93. Else you might
pull your hair out (like i did :->)

i have done both........ wfwg3.11 should be relatively painless. mosaic a4
required some changes to ini file
